Sonar destroyed
 

As soon as I started the game with my VIIC/42, fully upgraded, I was told that sonar was destroyed. Also, everytime I load the game, I get told again that the sonar was destroyed.

I don't understand this. I tried to use it but it will not work. Why would it have been destroyed in port??????

I'm running my mission without sonar!

I think it is the stock SH3 BBW. I remember he said something about a destroyed sonar on his VIIC/42 yesterday.

Not sure anyone has fixed the stock sonar destroyed
Has been done in GWX and maybe some of Anvarts dats have it fixed
Usually the sonar still works when you get the message though

Yep it does, well i was running GW1.1a and when i brought the IXB i got sonar destroyed in port when i started patrol, but my sonar still worked.

I don't understand it being a bug in SH3 as doing all the many missions using a VIIB, my 360° sonar was never destroyed.

That was a VIIB not a VIIC\42

Stock was terrible for that
IIRC the IXD2 and XXI all suffered the same sonar destroyed

Every time i start a mission the first thing it says is "Sonar Destroyed", im getting kinda annoyed with this. I run TGW1.1a with SH3 Commander but i dont have the Sabatage/Malfunction option running.

Is there a way i can go into the CFG files and change something?

Why dont you switch them on see if they make a diffrence you probably can co into one of the cfg's but it's knowing the right one not to totally screw your install up.

So your sonar gets destroyed using TGW? Does it do it in GWX and the upgrade as well?

I'm a little ticked off that it does it in SH3.

I hope someone developes a mod to correct if, if possible.

Not in either GWX 1.0 or 1.02 perfect starts every time mate why dont you try a re install or try GWX:up:

The GWX manual, on page 254, lists "Fixed stock Silent Hunter III 'sonar destroyed' message on the Type IXD2" as a new fix for GWX, that wasn't in the original GW. Don't know if this fix affected any other subs.

Hmmm interesting i have an IXD2 sub and is that y. hmm is there anyway from me to change it? Im using TGW1.1a
