Question about GWX 16KM Atmosphere mod
What does it do? I read the explanation in the manual, but I still can't tell what it actually accomplishes.
Thanks! |

Just remember it uses a lot of system resources so make sure you have a decent gfx card afore you activate it.

Let's assume that you can see a ship (via visual, radar or hydrophone) at 3Km using the 8Km Atm Mod. If you use the 16Km Atm Mod in the same conditions you will be able to see the same ship at 6Km. Is it more clear now? |
As fog(jk) yup its a good idea but can eat resources as can a lot of mods for SH3 but well there worth it:up:

Well, I started my 2nd GWX patrol, this time with the 16km Atmosphere activated. I didn't notice any CPU hits so far, but then I haven't seen any large convoys either.
My watch officer picked up a Tramp Steamer from 13900 meters which was pretty amazing considering it was a moonless night, but clear, so lots of stars were out. What was equally amazing was that I could see it too. It gave me a good bit of time to go to all stop and get some good data on course and speed. He seemed to be in a big hurry, making 9 knots which is his top speed. I considered letting him go, but then, there is a war on and all... We manned the deck gun and the first hit was a bit high, striking the cargo on the upper deck. It immediately started going off like a fireworks display. Kinda suspicious... Two more shots below the water line sent her down. That's one ammo shipment that won't see any use. This is truly the greatest mod I've ever seen for any game. Thanks a lot! |
H'm i think i'll give that a bash today i got a decent CPU and gfx card and ram so fingers crossed cheers for the update mate:up:
