Calling all Militaria Enthusiasts
I need help identifying a product, until i get a picture, toil over this..
green belt, with a polished metal buckle, the belt buckle has an eagle, with a cross over its chest and crown between its outstretched wingtips. any help will be greatly appreciated. |
I'd guess its an airforce belt? Possibly old American but I'm by no means an expert on militaria
|
Never seen a crown on any American military insignia. European monarchy perhaps?
|
If it's American, which I'm sure it's not, it's very old.
|
my friend said possibly the kings hussars but i checked them to no avail
the design is similar though: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King%27s_Royal_Hussars without the ball and scepter and instead of initials, a cross on the chest. |
Not American at all. Possibly ~18th century Western Europe. My bet is on Spain.
|
This thread sucks without pictures. I'm just saying....

green canvas, silver, religious..
will get a pic tomorrow |
Sounds vaguely like a serbian/montenegro piece. The Serbian coat of arms features a two-headed eagle with a Christian cross on its chest and a crown suspended overhead. (pictured below) Perhaps this piece is an adapted version?

anything?
|
Looks either English or Spanish. I could be wrong though...
|
Would you be able to get that photo in a better lighting?
It does look strikingly similar to the Polish National crest, although the eagle in your photo has a cross overlaid onto it and it looks like it's holding objects in each foot. http://www.tslpl.org/images/Eagle2_.jpg |
Don't know, but it's a nice looking buckle.
I'll bet a dollar it's eastern European though. |
