Kaleun coming back from a long leave...and not remembering what mods he had...
Hallo Kaleuns!
This Kaleun has been on leave for something like two and a half months from SH3. Unfortunately, said Kaleun has a really, really, really bad long term memory (haven't played much of anything lately...school, work, applying for college, etc...just haven't had time, plus I got a new computer) and can't remember what mods he had. I know for certain that I didn't have any of the super mods (okay, okay, I'm not up to that level of realism yet :P), and that I did have JSGME. I had SH3 Commander too. So, as much as I'd hate to sound like a newbie (starting to feel like one again...), I'm going to ask this: which mods should I get, outside of the super mods? I downloaded the latest patch from Ubisoft (yes, I hate the meshuga weirdos too...), so she's all patched up. I'd like to do a bit of harbor raiding again and actually find merchants in port...a tad bit of eye-candy would be nice too, but I just want to...oh I shouldn't admit this...play arcade style sometimes! LOL |
Hook yourself up with GWX and sobers 3d waves like me and silent hunter 3 will never be the same again!
Also you might want to download Gameshadow to manage mod downloads and stuff, there you can download GWX in one file. Also GWX is up to version 1.02 now. GUTER JAGD:arrgh!: |

GWX is very nice and all, especially on the eye candy situation, but it's improved on the realism side too! If you want all the good things from GWX, but keep the game a little arcade/kids mode style, you may want to try my tweak add on too! You may read about it on my site, but I would recommend you to try out GWX1.02 first! If you find it too hard, then you can enable my GWX-TA mod with JSGME, which will change different things... |
GWX v1.02 and SH3Cmd:yep: That's all you need;)

Looked at GWX, read the threads...from the sounds of it, I'd be the one patrol wonder of the Ubootwaffe and not in a good way...
What was that one I used to have...HT...High Traffic? No, no, that's not it...:damn: G-d, I should've done my physics and calc homework earlier, now I can't think coherently...Harbor Traffic? Is that it? What version is that on? And does anyone have the link? Oh, and what's the best skin pack out there? |
Fubar has the best skins!
you probably had (sergbutos?) harbour traffic mod, which comes in heavy and light. I still reccommend GWX - you can still adjust the realism and whatnot, but mate its worth it for the eyecandy, honestly! |
There is an optional little traffic mod in GWX if your computer cannot cope with all the graphics. You just have to enable it with JSGME and it comes with the game itself.

IIRC Harbour Traffic ended as a standalone mod sometime back. You should be able to find the last version on terrapins site - http://u-boot.realsimulation.com/
However, in the supermods GWX or NYGM the harbour traffic mod has been incorporated and improved upon. Really, don't let some of the reports for GWX put you off. Many people couldn't get used to the change in gameplay/realism when it was first released. You wouldn't believe how many threads where started saying 'GWX is too hard' or the 'GWX Uber Escorts keep killing me'. Do you see many of those now? You just have to change the way you play. Read the GWX manual (click on my Sig). GWX is not 'play this way or die' you can still adjust your realism settings and achieve an easier sim. At the very least, you should fire it up to see what you might miss out on.;) |
Did someone mention GWX:shifty:. Get the torpedo damage mod also:up:
|
Rubini was the one who did the Harbor Traffic mod. He stopped working on that mod a long time ago. He works on the GWX team now. If you truly want the best experience possible out of SH3, you really should have GWX.:yep:
|
I heard something about GWX....I don't know:shifty:
