Although the contents are not listed on the UK Amazon site, don't take it as read, but it's probably safe to assume they are the same as the German Amazon exclusive edition. Compared to the super duper Ubisoft Limited Edition version ...

If you are within the UK/europe this is your best alternative to the Ubisoft offering as everyone else is selling the basic vanilla edition at the same price.

Yes, I think parts of it are new and the bulk of it is from the Gamespot trailer. If you watch right to the end the dev diaries then start to play.

To me it looks like the normal Collectors Edition, perhaps Amazon gave it a new name so that people would think they would get more than the CE would offer.:hmm:

But apparently it's already cheaper... :doh:

At this rate the game will be in bargain-bins by the time it's released.

It doesn't contain all the goodies in the Super duper version. I just looked at the German Amazon site and don't quote me on this but assuming it's the same contents for the UK edition, it includes...

...basically the fluff is eliminated but I think I'd miss the DVD.

In Europe there are 3 editions:
Normal game (a manual, a map of the pacific and a quick reference guide)
Collectors Edition (recognition manual, CD soundtrack + the stuff of the normal game)
Deluxe Edition

The game offered via the amazon link is the Collectors Edition.

I think I will order that edition as my second copy for LAN games, can't wait to try the adversarial mode! Plus that will allow me to support Ubisoft and Subsim.

I look on the high price purchase from Ubi as an investment in the future for SH5 and DC2!

Yes, sorry I used the US term "patch" which is indeed a sew-on badge in UK parlance.

The Amazon german site does seem to indicate that the badge will be available with the collectors edition ( unless my translation of Aufnäher is wrong) but it's hardly worth bothering about since the badge image bears as much resemblance to a ww2 sub as a black banana, it looks more like a bad clipart image of a Typhoon class boomer!

It's too bad they didn't put in the DvD instead of the CD and patch. The only things I think are useful are the DvD and rec manual. This is my opinion though. It also shows me what to expect out of the American CE if they do one at all.

You're right, if you order the CE you'll get the badge as well.

Wait a minute? The CE is a cd? I dont want my games on umpteen different discs. I want it on DVD. Why would they do that when the old version was a dvd-rom game?
