US Army to test UAVs armed with ultra-bright strobe to work as crowd control weapon

US Army system designed to induce temporary paralysis

The US Army's Aviation Applied Technology Directorate (AATD) plans to demonstrate the use of a 7.5 million candlepower (7.3 million candela) strobe floodlight system mounted on board an unmanned air vehicle as a non-lethal crowd-control system....

It's not going to be long before the military starts mounting those brain-wave EMI generators on planes.

If you haven't heard, there are "beam weapon" prototypes which take some kind of sampling of a person's current alpha and beta brain waves, and disrupts them using negative interference. Don't know if they can really control whether or not someone dies or is rendered unconscious, but I would imagine that some kind of average templates could be found that affect 50-75% of the population. That is probably what is being worked on right now -- predefined firing patterns.

Slap that stuff on a UAV with a directed beam and you've got an instant force-multiplier. Snipers in the miniret? Flip the kill switch.

This sounded good at first, but then I thought about what the mind can really do when it tries hard enough ... the people will fight back and not give up. Like mice and rats get smarter with a maze problem if there is a reward at the end ...

So will human beings, all that's left to decide is which country will happen in first.
