P-3C Orion - DW Operations Manual

Well, with the release of LwAmi v3.07 I have taken the time to update my P-3C Operations Manual for DW. Along the way I changed the name from P-3C OWTOP to the aforementioned Ops Manual.

Now whats new?

Aside from the name and some minor updated things like version numbers, credits and so on I've revisited the Appendixes - especially for TeamSpeak and Hyperlobby. Further on I added relevant Information for users of LwAmi. Whenever you see something marked [LwAmi] in the manual it refers to things available only in the mod. Examples would be the Mk 60 CAPTOR.

While I'm comfortable with the updates I made I would like to have someone (preferably someone with actual knowledge of Airborne ASW) to read over my manual and give me some feedback - be it good or bad or both - before releasing a new version. Not to mention of course info on what I should include in the manual so people get a better understanding of Airborne ASW and the P-3 in the game in particular.

Cheers

P.S. : Once I'm happy with the new version I'll release it ASAP, so stay tuned for the P-3C - DW Operations Manual v1.4

While I was working on the updated manual I have decided to finally include the MH-60R Seahawk and along the way introduce some other new stuff. As mentioned above the LwAmi Mod changes relevant to both Airborne platforms now are included. Further on I started to collect unclassified real world information on the P-3, the MH-60 its weapons, sensors and history. While this information is only partial relevant to the game itself, it sure makes some interesting reading and its some nice background information.

Right now I'm working on making new screenshots for the MH-60 to include in the manual as well as updating lots of the images I have in the manual to make them more "printer friendly". Btw ... the manual increases in size as well (who would have guessed) ... right now I'm at 71 pages and I just started to include the MH-60, tho some of that stuff is only background and therefore if you intend to print the manual you wont have to print all of it.

Oh and the whole thing has just got another name ... "Dangerous Waters - Airborne Operations Manual".

Parallel to all of that I started getting into programming again. As a testbed for my renewed skills as well as a way to learn C# I started working on a DW Multitool .. its nowhere near to be done but some parts of it I'm pretty happy with right now, one of them being the Calculations/Conversions tool. Other parts I'm working on are a way of easily reading Debrief files and saving them to separate folders and under separate names "automatically" (should be a nice thing for all the Virtual Fleets), a Scenario Text Editor for easily and comfortably editing Playertaskings and Mission Briefings, and some other things ....

Stay tuned for more news

TACCO & ATO Toolbox ...

As mentioned above I have started coding again. The first result of this can be downloaded at the CADC here : http://www.commanders-academy.com/fo...=9696#post9696

As mentioned over at the SubSim Forums I have started up programming again. The first result is the TACCO and ATO Toolbox, a handy tool for quickly calculating Speed,Distance,Time and Radar Horizon as well as get the opposite Bearing for any given one or quickly convert from ft to m for example.

Give it a whirl and keep me posted when you find bugs or with functions you would like to see in the next release.
Please post any bug reports or requests for other functions over at the CADC.

Cheers
