the scope not holding lock
This seems to be a new (and very anoying) problem. I get the target in the crosshairs, smooth water, with the uzo, and I loose the lock after only a second. This proves very anoying when either using the wo to get the data, or when actually trying to manually do it.
Does anyone know the parameter in the program that controls this? I realize the real comanders did not have a lock option on their scopes, but those comanders also did not have to click mouse buttons, or hit keys on a key board, they simply asked for the range and bearing, and the WO did the rest. Also, I have a scope full of targets, and yet they do not appear on the map. I do have god eye on, so this is very aggravating. |
If you are using GWX, this all might be a question of distance to the targets. The lock function doesn't stick if they are too far away. I think same goes for showing on the map (although I can't swear as I play with no map contact)

yup you have to be quite close to the target before the lock "sticks" probably ajustable in the settings somewhere though

Yep, GWX but it is there for a bit of realism. I found it annoying at first but got used to it. I believe this is put in because the Kaleuns did not have a locking laser device on the scope or uzo. Perhaps an annoyance of the Kaleuns having to re-adjust with every look at the target. Get into about 2000m and it should stay locked at that point.
