crew man killed

has anyone had a few of your crewman killed and if so how? ive been pretty much an all or nothing kind of guy, if you know what i mean :nope:

Morts 02-12-07 06:32 PM

i once had 3 gunners killed :shifty:
a fighter attacked me
wiping the first 2 gunners off
then attack run again but only got 1 this time:shifty:

STEED 02-12-07 06:37 PM

Two thirds of my crew dead one smashed up boat and the rest of the crew brown pants time. And that's before I even got out of port!!! Bloody Alie bombers. :rotfl: :rotfl:

I don't even have a doc on board yet. For me, once the first man sheds a drop of blood, it pretty much means everyone is going to be tossing buckets of it in a few seconds.

I either come back to Wilhelmshaven without so much as a shaving nick, or I don't come back.

My first watch officer and flack gunner killed (VII B early 1940) by a bloody armed tug, who then depth charged us. After burial at sea, we crept home with badly damaged boat.

High Voltage 02-12-07 08:13 PM

Entire watch crew dead with one shell from a DD.
Dove deep to escape and then surfaced that night to perform a moving burial at sea, courtesy of the Gramaphone playing Coldplay's "Swallowed in the Sea"...

You will never be forgotten, boys...

One of my former patrols was pretty tuff. I ended having 7 dead crewmemners after a tripp to Hell-gland and back in my second Boot on my 7th patrol!
Poor sods!:shifty:
And i thought i could pull off a few more patrols and retire my Boot and crew:dead:

That one's still with me!

Thank God I'm not serving on your boat! :o

Just yesterday I got careless and decided to have gun duel with a pair of spitfires, Nov. 44. I figured that the torrent of fire from my 3 AA guns would make splinters out of them. I was wrong. On the first pass my 4 man AA crew was shredded. No time for the medic. The shreds of flesh and uniform were washed off the deck as we made our crash dive....

I once heard "a wise commander dives without shame from anything with wings"

A mine will reliably kill the two men in the sonar/radio room. The blast can also burn off members of the watch.

update - I've scraped some of the rust off my wisdom and i'm back at sea with 4 new sardines - Dec 11, 1944. I'm 70k short of my million.

Thx Duce. Good to be back. Not sure what it was, but something brought me back to SH. I had a long stint in BF2142, and I actually got dosbox and started playing some early 90s games (Jagged Alliance!!). For some reason I needed to be at sea once again. Maybe it's all this talk about GWX. After I tie off this VII career (NYGM 2.2), and now that I've got a gig of ram, I'm planning to go GWX w/yer tweek pack, and a IXC career, DiD as usual.
