The US fleet boat cutaways thread.

Greetings,

Since Ubisoft will deprive me from enjoyning cute colored cutaway artworks at the damage screens, like in SHIII, SHI and even SHII, I have to go around the internet finding my own. Thought it would be nice to share my findings.

Gato:

No compartment descriptions.

Descriptions covering the artwork, doh!

Balao:

No descriptions either. But the conning tower and deck gun are the only differences.

"A modern sub":

Hehe. No idea what this is. That's what it says. But it has all the descriptions! From this book:

Click "Next Appendix", lots of cutaways, some highlighting different components.

Oh well, that's all.

Thanks for sharing these. Not certain how accurate the scale is, though seeing these certainly puts into perspective just how large these subs were.

I am really going to miss the cutaway...

I wonder if they will introduce it in a later patch or something.. or if its possible to mod it in. :hmm:

Not a very good quality image, but here's diagram of a Gato class sub with compartment descriptions (just for informative purposes):

<removed image as I missed the link the OP provided above>

Here's a direct link to the appendix list:

As TteFAboB pointed out, everything you ever wanted to know about a US fleet boat.

Good info! Thanks for the links.

I'm currently building a 1:2 mockup on the local golf course driving range. Cold work but very rewarding. Hope they like it when they reopen in April ;) .
