Medical Study of the Experiences of Submariners

Among many other fine documents at NAVY MANUALS AND DOCUMENTS ONLINEis the Medical Study of the Experiences of Submariners as Recorded in 1,471 Submarine Patrol Reports in World War II, 1949

This document will answer all your pressing question such as what were the incidents of Diseases of the Infectious types or communicable diseases among the U.S. Submarine Service.

On a more serious note you will find data regarding the break down of injuries types and deaths and if they were associated with below deck activities or surface combat etc.

There is not an area of loss that is not covered in detail in this 259 page document.

DTB,
This is the type of things that happens during a patrol, and can have serious consequences. Instead of crew fatigue, which is really burnout, a model for crew inefficiency should include this in stead of just length of time on duty.
Thanks for the link
