Files from SH4 to SH3?

As I understand SH4 reportedly is built using the same graphic engine (or same type) as SH3.

I love SH3 and certainly plan on buying SH4.

This being said does have anyone have a thought about some of the graphic files being able to transfer over?

I.E., use SH4's new clouds, water, smoke, fire, etc, etc, in SH3?

This question has been discussed in another thread. Personally, I don't see this happening. I do see the possibility of a Vista based SH 5 game on the distant horizon, which would be a dual core DX10 based game set back in the Atlantic.

Although SH4 is based on the SH3 engine, I'm sure it's been substantially modified in many areas and is now quite different from it's older sibling. So I don't think files will be interchangeable whatsover.

Now a multithreaded and DX10 Atlantic based SH5 sounds wonderful.

I'm afraid that it is impossible. The devs have said that they had to rewrite certain parts of the code, thus making SH3 incompatible with SH4.:|\\

i was thinking about sh3 campaign using sh4 engine, but if the code is too different perhaps could be impossible.

It's not a matter of thinking positive or negative. It's simply a matter of being a realist. :)
