Fumo 29 display problem NYGM 2.4
 

Hi!

I have a problem with NYGM 2.4 wich was nonexistent with 2.2.
When selecting the Fumo 29 it is not on the front of the conning tower, applied along the bend. Instead it shows up squarely on the bridge on the left hand side facing outward...

I have following: SH3 patched 1.4
via JSGME NYGM Tonnage War 2.2 standalone (shows ok):yep:
via JSGME NYGM 2-4 update (causing the prob):down:

No other mods. Already tried with fresh 2.4 over the ok 2.2, problem remains.
Anybody have same result? I checked the forums but could not find similair problem, which is woriing....

i will hazard a GUESS ! 2.4 includes the new rotating radio ariel and I believe radar displays also. ( check the readme file) Perhaps the new configurations have altered the dat files for the subs so that your previous sub versions are now updated by 2.4 and the graphic for the radar no longer displays correctly?

the reason for this problem is the radar rotation. To get the radar rotation working one has to change the position of the radar antenna. As a consequence the Fumo 29 is wrong but the other radar antenna have the correct position. If you are interested in more details look for the original thread by Anvart.

To summarize, it is only possible to use the Fumo 29 with the conning towers VIIB 1/2 and VIIC 1. For all other conning towers you will get the problem (IX I don't know). I also don't know if that is historically correct. In my own version I have removed the radar rotation from NYGM 2.4. I enable it separatedly with the mod enabler depending on which conning tower and radar device I use. This procedure works fine for me.

Anvart and LGN, Ichecked the threats and from what I have experienced and read it remains an compromise: nice lifelike radars versus some distortion in some configs (such i had in a Type IXc with FuMO29)

There is no way around it, but LGN found a compromise depending on config, good idea.:hmm:
