I encountered a wolf pack!!!!
 

Last night SW of Western Approaches, a large CIRCLE (out-bound) appearded on the map. I clicked on it...a large convoy!:arrgh!: :rock: I used my last 25% of fuel to pursure it. When I regained the contact, I zoomed in on the map...3 type 7c U-boats were trailing the convoy!!!:yep: :ping: :up: I raced in and let my torpedoes go..but the escort was close and I had to crash-dive. The depth charge pattern destroyed my periscopes:damn: SONOFA:dead: :dead: :dead: :dead: :dead: ! I went deep to fix my damage an slither away. And sure enough astern of the convoy, there were the u-boats.

I have happened upon them a few times. They are just swell because the DD will go after them while I go get the tonnage. Here is how I did it in a nutshell. Flanked to the rear of convoy. Got their attention. DD came after me like gangbusters. I Flanked backed to the wolves. The wolves used their cannons and to pretty good effect also. Whilst they were busy with them, I flanked the convoy and had me way with them. Three DD went down because of the wolves. All but one wolf was destroyed. It was this patrol that I really felt like a wolfpack:rock:

They can't submerge but will engage the enemy with their deck guns. Same goes for the US subs in the Pacific.

I only saw the circle once but it was way out of my area.
