Graphics problem
Hello,
Got a small prob im hoping you guys might have an answer.:damn: Installed sh3 and gwx few days back and everything has been working fine, however last night i noticed that i no longer see explosions, tracers, fire, smoke etc. I have searched and searched and cant find an answer. Im hoping its as simple as changing a variable in the configs. any help would be much appreciated. |
Um..how about some information on your GFX card for a start?
PC Specs:
ATI x1900xtx amd64 4000+ 2gb MEM as i said its been running fine and all of a sudden i no longer see expolsion effects etc. I have a feeling something has been changed in the game configs but i have no idea where to look. |
Hmm..should run flawlessly on that card... did you make any changes to the card's settings by means of the Catalyst Control centre?
nothing has been changed at all.:-?
Check the particles setting within the SH3 Options > Video menu. Make sure it's at 100%
Everything is ticked and particle density is set to 100%.
im now trying a reinstall keeping my saved games intact. fingers crossed.
i fixed it but not in the way i wanted too.
after reinstall i still had the same prob, i then took the plunge and deleted the sh3 folder in my documents and to my surprise the smoke/fire effects etc were working again. I guess 1 of the configs had been changed and was removing the effects.:damn: Thankfully i had only started my career 2 days ago. If anyone has experienced this before and knows a fix for it can you please tell me incase it happens again, touch wood. cheers.:arrgh!: |
Perhaps that was the only fix. If I'm not mistaken the files can become corrupt and the only answer is a complete reinstall. Oh well, we all live and learn. Sometimes I don't learn....
Whenever you do a reinstall of SHIII you gotta get rid of the My docs folder as well or else you'll have probs. I've found that whenever I reinstalled due to a problem or reconfig for a major mod, I had to hide, rename or delete the MyDocs SHIII folder.
