Are there any U Boat commanders still alive?

Is Eric Topp stil alive? Do we know if any of them play SHIII?
I know that Eric Topp was interviewed in SHII but were any of them consulted in the making of the game?

Erich Topp died in 2005, i dont know if theres still anyone alive.
