That idea can be something wonderfull...

Dear DEV TEAM & UBISOFT - MAKE IT FOR US! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

What You think? greetz. s.O.n.a.r

I really don't see how it can be implemented. Not many people are exactly going to be around to send you messages.

fire-fox 02-01-07 11:11 AM

well just read the report and there going to have the "AI send messages useing serch lights";)

Safe-Keeper 02-01-07 11:22 AM

The enemy AI will use morse code by means of search light, which probably means friendlies will, too. It's in the Hands-on report:up:.

I really hope we will be able to use it, too.

It'd be implemented the exact same way radio messages are. You tell your crew what to send, and they send it. When others signal you, your crew iterpretes it.

Finback 02-01-07 12:40 PM

It'd be great but I sure hope I don't have to learn morse  .

Sailor Steve 02-01-07 02:48 PM

Well, if it's done right it'll be just like radio--the signalman will hand you a piece of paper with the message written on it.

Well done entirely missing my point.

Unless you're operating in a fleet, how often do you think you'll be around a friendly and have something to say that close? I've no problem with the concept of it being there. But it sounds like an option that won't get much use, at least for sending stuff ourselves.

Be delighted to be proven otherwise though

Thankses. I try my best:oops:.

Often enough to warrant some sort of morse communication, especially with the special missions like commando delivery and pilot rescue. I imagine a feature that lets you hunt down friendly warships and transfer airmen/sailors to them, in which case communication would be necessary.

Even if it won't be seen often, the fact that the feature is there enriches the game. No point in complaining about it.

It could be useful, but I just don't see you being in the vicinity of friendlies often enough to actually see it come into use except in odd occasions. But admittedley it does add to the immersion.

Finback 02-01-07 06:33 PM

I think it would be a great feature for gorilla missions (ie landing/supplying/recovering coast watchers etc). I've read of at least one instance where proper recognition signals were used only to have the recovery team from a sub met by Japanese. It'd also be a interesting frature for MP if you were only allowed to communicate with morse and within visual range...

:hmm:

Drokkon 02-01-07 07:43 PM

I'm sure it will be used in the troop insertion and pick up missions on the islands.

Fat Bhoy Tim 02-02-07 11:09 AM

Fair point. That's probably the only circumstances it could be used, but at least in those ones it would be a central part of the process as opposed to a cute extra.
