Letters from Iwo Jima.
 

I went to see Letters today. Interesting film... I've been trying to figure out how much of the story (if any) was true. Up to this point the most I could find was a picture of the Japanese commander, and that there were 1000 Japanese prisoners captured. At least this film wasn't a never ending flashback, like Flags. The battleship sure looked a lot like the USS Texas.

Any thoughts...:hmm:

I have not seen it yet. I saw Flags but it was never clear to me what letters was all about. Only recently did I learn. I want to see it. :cool:

Unfortunately, I haven't got around to watching Letters From Iwo Jima, yet. I may just end up picking up the DVD once it's released. I did see Flags of Our Fathers, and found it to be just--okay. From the trailers and the reviews I've seen and read thus far, Letters From Iwo Jima looks to be a much better film.
