How to edit altitudes and terrain on coast?

Hi,

I should want to edit altitudes and terrain to refine the altitudes and shore coasts, it seems in the mission editor that pixels colors give the altitudes .
I have searched for a map file in .tga or .raw in the data folder, but they seems to does not correspond to the map in mission editor.

thanks for help .

You need the Terrain Editor, I believe, to do this.

what we have misunderstood is your trying to reshape the terrain
like putting in a new canal somewhere, yes.

YES , Rush

The good new is that I had modified with sucess altitudes importing the gry level map in photoshop and modifyng the density of grey in pixels. thanks to the author of terrain extrator. And it works fine.

the last question is in the case of a canal, which is a good example how the texture is modified ? (i mean earth or water) is it automatic with négative altitudes or something like that? I doesn't try it at the momment.

Or have we to work on textures in this case where(are the files) and how ?

Do

thanks to all of you

I missed the thread  , I see you figure it out the elevation, the water/land is defined by the mask (the black/white file).
