Saw a sub film ive never seen before....

Operation Petticoat?

haha. Not quite sure what to say about this one, but it was fun to watch......a pink Submarine!

UglyMowgli 01-28-07 12:08 PM

A lot of events in this movie really happen, even the 'pink' sub, in reality the sub was on red , the crew had just timle to put the antifoiling paint and no the grey one before japs invade the port, so the sub left the port in the red coat.

Yup, it's a pretty good movie....

zombiewolf 02-17-07 05:42 PM

Tony Curits and Gregory Peck?

Sailor Steve 02-17-07 05:58 PM

I can understand not having seen it, but didn't you see all the references to it posted all over the place?

Great movie, saw it the other day. Funny, while not unrealistic. Nothing like wacky 50s humour and an upbeat soundtrack. Cary Grant makes a great sub captain.
He's also great in the earlier movie, Destination Tokyo. Also amusing, but because of all the wartime propaganda.

Have yet to get around to watching this flick. Seems to have received some pretty decent reviews. It has Tony Curtis and Cary Grant, so how bad can it be?

I have asked his before.A film with a u-boat abandonned in the deserts of sw africa and a plan to recover some diamonds. The RN officer who sank the u-boat is in charge and a mute member of the u-boat crew is taken along as well.Title?

Bertgang 03-05-07 05:25 PM

Maybe: A twist of sands.

Not diamonds in the original novel but, out of that, all you wrote remember me this book.
Really nice, specially the chapter about the sinking of the german u-boat by the british one.

Many thanks bertgang. That is the film though you never see it on tv.
