Noob-Its dangerous out there
Hi Guys,
First, thanks + respects to all who advised and linked GWS  Just completed 2nd patrol in my U46 VIIB (2nd Flotilla.Wilhemshaven):) Patrol gave me 4 kills, 1 Pyro, 1 Large Merchant, 2 Small Merchant (all to Deck Gun, NO Torps used ) but.... Is the AI always so bloody good? Went out (AM32) via North Sea then between Orkney and Shetland Returned Between Orkney and North Scotland :p (to avoid armed stuff I dodged on outward ) Aircraft  DIVE!!!! Hull Damage(only 15m-20m depth) Sat there while repairs were effected then ran into 3 ships waiting for me :shifty: Cruised under water (must have been approx 100m at 20m depth from land) round North Tip of Scotland (with Forum Advice "Stay Deep" ringing in my ears  ) Broke surface once clear of land/ships approx 20km North Sea Hurricae fighters  DIVE!!!! head East then South and HOME  Patrol #3 cant wait :D :D PS 2 Destroyers sank themselves with own depthcharges (game glitch or reality ? ? ) maddysad |
Welcome aboard kaleun maddysad :arrgh!:
Are you playing GWX ? :hmm: |
Welcome maddysad:up:
If it is GWX you are playing if you do not already have it the 23rd corrections fix some things that were missed during Beta testing. You can D/L the 23rd corrections form my Filefront site the link is at the bottom of my sig:up: |
hi and welcome.
yeah if you are using GWX then yes the A.I is very good infact uber. |
The AI is not uber at all the is a great piece everyone should read in the GWX manual if they think that attacking a convoy will lead to there detection.
GWX Manual PAGE 26 Title Surviving a ASW attack in GWX. This a must read for all Kaulens that think that GWX is uber. |
Welcome to the GWX vworld. So far, I've done one year in GWX mode (39-40) and have a fascinating career despite the frustration of often empty seas.
|
Welcome aboard! Yes the AI are good and create a nice challenge. Can you beat them? Sure can. Go deep/run silent/2kts/change course often. 200m deep is a nice place to start...if you are damaged or have had some damage repaired....200m is taking your crews life into your own hands. Just the reality of it. You are the Kaleun and your decision is final!!!

In the beginning some DD are just a bunch of amatures
In the beginning of 1939, some DD are just a bunch of amature, but i had 1 DD that pinged me.... maybe a DD that test his first Sonar.... who knows...
but later in the war, DD's and even Escorts will be your worst nightmare.... Good luck!!! |

Well if its too uber for you dont play it.
But read and aplie what it says on that page in the manual to your game and i think you will see the game in a different light. |
i didnt say that i said i thought they are uber because ive only just got gwx and installed it:D and im not used to them being so much better than stock. man your in a funny mood today:lol:

@ Mooncatt
Sorry if i bit your head of with the uber AI thing but im just sick to the back teeth of people saying how uber the DD's and Ai and well everything going is with GWX most of the answers can be found in the manual and just reading through some old threads can bring my some jems of information that can be life savers when on patrol. Also alot of people still think that GWX is just a eye candy mod It never was and if they play the game they will find out like yourself that it is very high on the relisim as well. I hope you enjoy the GWX experience. Once you get used to it you will never go back:up: |
GWX isn't uber. It's harder, true, but it's not uber. Nor is it (thank God!) arcadish... which was the fault of stock SH3.
Now you have to work for your tonnage and I for one like that immersion factor. Just me, I guess... |
C'mon guys....wind them necks in....maddysad ain't even replied to the answer to his original post #1 + #2 :hmm: ....and besides mel might be put off coming into the thread now :rotfl:
Peace kaleuns :arrgh!:  |
The destroyers DC themselves is a game glitch It has been looked into but is still there |
