Uflak problem

I noticed when I was using a Uflak tonight that the wire floats were also visible to the left of my sub. I spent about 2 hours running through different skins to see if that was the problem, but as far as I could figure, that's not the problem--they all have the same floats on the left side of the sub. While this is subtle, has anyone else noticed this?

I'm using GWX, of course.

Can anyone reproduce this? Again, it's sublte--when you load a Uflak, go to the external view and see if there are the wire floats on the left side of the boat-imagine a u-boat next to the one you see--but the only thing you see are the wire floats.

I have also seen this. There are some small grey pieces floating in the air beside the sub. Looks like some leftovers from the 3D model, or something..

We'll need screenshots to attempt a diagnosis.

I'll take some screenshots and post them when I get home from work tonight.

All right, here they are. I've only noticed this on the type VIIC u-flak while using GWX. These are the "floats" and attachment points on the guide wires of the VIIC. They are in the right spot--just off set to the left of the u-boat. Further, the floats are on and in the right spot on the u-boat as well. These are present with the default GWX and all other skins I have. Invisible boat following me around?

Here is a better view of the floats in front.

Again, note that they are aligned with the floats and attachment points on the u-boat.

I hope that helps.

That first pic is wonderful! A person could easily be excused for thinking that was an actual photohraph.

Apart from the "floats" of course.

@ Jason: I have the exact same as shown on your pics. :yep:

Jimbuna 01-25-07 04:42 AM

What MODs are you using ? :hmm:

danlisa 01-25-07 04:46 AM

Just putting this idea out there. Is this problem evident with no skins enabled? i.e standard GWX skins. I'm only guessing here but are any of your enabled skins in DAT format?

_Seth_ 01-25-07 05:23 AM

IIRC, my only enabled skin was a self-made, consisting of .tga files. I cant see that any of my other mods should interfere and make this happen(like 23 dec. corrections/ Intergrated orders and so on)... :hmm:

gamers2000 01-25-07 05:29 AM

Could it be the shell casing of the flak or something like that?

_Seth_ 01-25-07 05:37 AM

To me it looks like some insulators to the wires. Could be that this has followed from the 3D modelling; it has been created, and "dragged" away & not deleted, causing it to follow the model itself. Just my 2 cents...

Jimbuna; GWX, GWX dec 23rd patch, a couple of NVdrifters mods, some of fubars skins (obviously). That's about it. I'm positive that I see this with the stock GWX tectures but I'll check that tonight.

Seth; Thanks, at least I'm not crazy;) I agree with your interpretation of what these are.

Gamer2000; As I stated in a previous post, these are the guide wire attachment points and floats, just off set from the u-boat to the left. In the second picture I posted you can see that they lineup with the attachment point and floats on the actually boat (the extra floats are bigger as they're closer in that photo).

Alright, does someone else with GWX want to fire up SH3, choose a type VIIC, add the u-flak conning tower (type 4, i believe) and see it they see this also? It's only there when I have the U-flak configuration.

I'll do some experimenting tonight after work to see if I can narrow down the source of the problem.

Found the problem, my fault  , when I corrected the cables I forgot to delete a reference object in my 3d scene, correcting it and will be released with the Jan update.
