How do I re-enable background music in the new GMX while Playing?

Hi!

I have been using GMX since it has come out, and I must say that it is a wonderful mod. However, I have only one complaint: I actually like the in game music to be played while I am in my U-boat. Does anyone know how I can make the ingame music play while I am playing a Mission? I don't really care if it is the in game music of GMx or stock-SH3, as long as it is there. Thanks very much!

Have you tried to use the gramophone? You can hear a number of songs there.

thanks, but what I meant is the in-game default music that starts when you are at the main menu of SH3. I couldn't find that in the gramophone.

Good question, I also play gwx, and I like the default music as well.

yes, either the default or the GMX main-menu music. I think this will be better because think that the game is a little sterile when a mission is so quiet 90% of the time.

Why don't you put the music file into the gramophone file? That way you can listen to it whenever you like

The default music also had a couple of tunes it played when things got a little more hectic than usual. Putting these in the gramophone won't work quite like that.

I like the music but sometimes spoils the gameplay , because change depending of the scorts actions, and being detected.

without music a easy hear the destroyers engines when they are near your sub.

i would like have music only when i was patrolling but dissable it when i enter in action against ships :hmm:

to get the background battle music back you have to go into your C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Sound\Music

look for the music.cfg file open it with notepad.

then scroll down to you see battle and add in exactly what i have here

[BATTLE]
Tracks=6
Track1=Battle_1_Mix.ogg
Track2=Battle_2_Mix.ogg
Track3=Battle_3_Mix.ogg
Track4=Battle_4_Mix.ogg
Track5=Battle_5_Mix.ogg
Track6=Battle_6_Mix.ogg

make a back up jsut in case and thats all there is to it

Thanks for this, that was what I was looking for exactly. Btw, I found that when looking in that music.cfg file that the only difference is that my lines look like ;Track1=Battle_1_Mix.ogg

Does the ; mean the files are grayed out, like not being used by the game? As in the old REM lines we had way back with DOS?
