The waste gate - bradclark fanclub.

Welcome. Every now and then they'll have a go at each other. They're brief, quick and dirty. They'll stroll around Republican/Democrat politics flooding the room with irony and sarcasm. You just love them. Subsim wouldn't be the same without them.

There are other duos. Abraham and Skybird for example. But the first is almost an idealist and the second is almost a "fatalist". They're almost speaking different languages. They are good alright, they just aren't as much fun. Then there's something about STEED too, but is there really anyone taking him for a walk as frequently as the first two? Xabbarus? Kpt. Munson? I don't know.

Anyway. Join the waste gate-bradclark fanclub today and we'll send you a bag of popcorn free of charge!
This special promotion is sponsored by Yahoshua. All popcorn requests should be addressed to his mail box.

STEED doesnt need someone to feud with. Everyone KNOWS his opinions and how steadfast he is in them. Convincing STEED to the other side of an argument would be like pouring smoke through a keyhole, or chewing on an oxygen molecule :arrgh!:

Your right about that subsim wouldn't be any fun without em ... I like anyone that can fly one of those real planes (besides just FSX). Now if they would just change their minds about Bush ... I would join their fan club ...:yep:

This is a site in the US. Probably something like it in the EU. EU restrictions on pilot training is more restrictive than the US. More money, more restricted airspace, more hoops to jump through.

PS once you leave the ground and don't know, or are overly confident in the capabilities of yourself or your aircraft, this can happen to you.

Fatalism:

Noun
  • S: (n) fatalism (a submissive mental attitude resulting from acceptance of the doctrine that everything that happens is predetermined and inevitable)
  • S: (n) fatalism (a philosophical doctrine holding that all events are predetermined in advance for all time and human beings are powerless to change them)
from: http://wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn?s=fatalism

Me - a fatalist? I fight against it whereever I witness it! I strongly dislike the apathy deriving from it. Don't mix up fatalism with pointing at consequences you cannot avoid if only you make according moves that rule out other outcomes. My view on Iraq's failure, for one example, is not fatalistic. It is consequent, or realistic: I see the decision to attack Iraq as the move that made any other outcome impossible. it was the loosing move in this match of chess.

And while we are at it and I (and my buddy, good ol' Nietzsche) was often called a nihilist as well:

Nihilism:

Noun
  • S: (n) nihilism (a revolutionary doctrine that advocates destruction of the social system for its own sake)
  • S: (n) nihilistic delusion, nihilism (the delusion that things (or everything, including the self) do not exist; a sense that everything is unreal)
  • S: (n) nihilism (complete denial of all established authority and institutions)
http://wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn

I am no nihilist as well. Don't mix up the second definition with Buddhism's claim that things are existant, but are not real. A Fata Morgana is existant, but what it shows you is not real.

Phew! I'm glad I left it inside quotation marks! That sure isn't a fatalistic "reaction". :rotfl: Complaint noted. I call the quotation marks in my defense, let's say that I meant to say barely, only in appearance but not in reality at all.

I apologize. :(

I have nothing to do with that one! I wouldn't touch it with a 10ft pole.

Hmmmm, why do you bring this up? Is it really about Bhuddism? You don't intend to imply that the popcorn is not real, do you?

Folks, don't listen to this Nihilist! He's an apathetic liar full of fatalism! The popcorn is real! I guarantee! ... just kidding.:D

Don't be so sure about that. From a quantum-physical point of view popcorn consists of almost nothing else but empty space, in there some abstract probabilities of certain ammounts of nothingness to exist, sometimes even backwards in time.

What I mean is it makes no difference wether you eat it or not, cause nothing is nothing. Both you and your popcorn came from out of nothing and will go back to nothing. What have you lost or gain then when eating it or not? Nothing!

In other words: eat or get eaten. It doesn't matter.

I've already joined the Skybird "-ism" fanclub before I even knew it existed, I think.
