Torpedo jam/malfunction in the tube?

October '39, type IXB, II Flotilla, NW of Ireland - U-123 reports a jammed aft torpedo. The torpedo resides in internal storage, slot 2nd, and refuses to be moved to the tube or to the first slot, many tries without effect. All the other torpedoes smoothly change their places when 'asked to' by dragging and dropping, only this one seems to be jammed. Kaleunus furiosus then orders to switch 'automatic reload' option on and magically the torpedo moves to aft tube No 5. :|

First I thought it's a coded malfunction (SH3 Commander option), but it reloaded after switching the automat. Also the thread about malfunctions doesn't mention jammed torpedoes (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...ammed+torpedo). So - what was the problem?

Config: SH3 + GWX + GWX Dec 23rd patch + SH3 Commander 2.7, malfunctions on.

Don't know yet, I don't have any more torpedoes to try this. But will give it a closer look on the next patrol. :)

Cool, let us know how it went, mate!

You might want to try this, as it's worked for me in similar situations: whatever tube seems to be 'jammed', select that tube and click 'W' to force the outer tube cap and door closed. If they remain open, needless to say you can't also then open the inner door at the same time to load a torpedo. :p ;)

Thanks, I'll keep it in mind next time. But that guy also refused to be moved to another slot of internal storage, so this was not the tube problem.

PS Is a torpedo 'he', 'she' or 'it' in English?

I suppose that I think of them as "hes" for obvious reasons, and I do not really know - "Hey, fire the d!@# firecracker!"

The torpedo problem occured again, in the same career, second patrol. Again it was the internal aft storage, slot 2 - I have to switch to automatic reload in order to move the torpedo to the tube.

Can't say it's a stock bug because I've never experienced this myself...but you say changing to 'ato' corrects it...might just have to live with that or change to another class asap :hmm:

I would have killed to be able to include a torpedo malfunction in the mod, alas it was not to be. This did happen once but it was caused by an open outer door.

Strange bug but cool.
