Odd problem with nonrandom random pinups
I am using the 50 Hi-Res Pinup Girls Randomized Pack from Tikigod. For those who don't know, SH3 Commander picks a random pinup and it should be available for viewing in the sonar shack. But something is not right, and I have had the same pinup for 3 missions in a row.
So I investigate...and I find that the pinup in the sonar station does not match the picture in C:\ProgramFiles\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Textu res\TNormal\tex\druck_radio_7.tga. So SH3 Commander is indeed choosing a random druck_radio_7.tga file and sending it to the above directory, but the picture in the sonar station is not updating in the game to match the texture. 3 missions in a row with the same pinup. The crew is talking about mutiny! |

What type of uboat are you in? druck radio 7 only randomizes the type VII uboat (so, you will only see new posters in the VIIB and VIIC). I didn't add randomization for the other uboats to keep the overall file size down. If you are using other uboats you can use a 3rd party renaming tool to copy paste and rename the druckradio7 file so you have it for all uboat types (since they use the same image template for the radio room)
The other thing is make sure you are using sh3 commander to launch your sh3 install, otherwise it won't apply the randomization folders. If you launch without sh3 commander, you will keep getting the last poster that was applied until you launch with commander again. Also make sure the folders enclosed are in your "Program Files\SH3 Commander\Random" directory as it says in instructions. You can use JSGME to apply packs to your sh3 commander directory.....I use it to swap stuff in and out of randomization folder. Hope this helps. Let me know if it fixes your problem. Quote:
