Help me name this movie...
 

I just saw bits and pieces of a movie on AMC (American Movie Classics) and I want to find the name so I can rent it and see the whole thing. Hopefully someone can help me name it. From what I saw it was something like this:

First, it was an old movie in black and white and probably made in the late 40s to the mid to late 50s. When I started watching it, there was a Jewish girl as a POW on a German boat. (Didn't see what kind of boat, but I know it was a surface vessel.) Anyway, the captain is very kind to her and it sounded like he may have tried to offer her a way to escape. (Like I said, I just saw bits and peices and couldn't make everything out.) Then an SS officer on board revealed to her that he was a Brit (or at least friendly to the Brits) and that he wanted her help to take over the ship. To do this they would need to release some American prisoners also on board. That is about all of it I saw.
