Bismarck sinking in GWX

I was told to go to BE to help the Bismarck. I have found the Bismarck and she's going round in circles. It's now may 29. I know her rudders been damaged. Is there any point in hanging around, is something else going to happen?

If I remember correctly the Royal Navy will eventually turn up and sink the ship. You might be able to fire some torpedoes to the British Battleships but it won't be easy;)

Good Luck:D

That's what I was hoping, I guess i'll wait :hmm:

No, sorry, I think you are late, mate. You have to be there on the 27´th. The British has already left the scene. It was absolutely awful weather when I was there so I´m not sure when, but the Bismark disappeared from the hydrophone after a while.

Aw crap, why is the Bismarck still here then?

If what Lzs von swe is saying is correct it should be in the process of sinking. At least you can save the sailors;) :D

Never got that message in Gwx but then again I don't know is GWXis modded to get messages for certain flottilla's but even if I got a message like that sod all I could do i was in the Azores at that time (alway's am) and the IX boats arn't that speedy might have the torps but not the speed.(played the single mission tonight trashed the lot of them and Bismark survived 1st time in gwx)

When I started my patrol on May 23 The first thing I do is try to look for Bismarck. But when I recieved the message that Bismarck need help guess where was I at? Also, Im goin to see if i can take some pics of the battle in my current patrol.

It's an pretty good battle to participate in or watch

Two captains ago (now on eternal patrol in 43') I was in the B grid and received the message to come to the assistance of the Bismark.

In GW 1.1 the British fleet has two fronts 3 battleship (King George I think) and 2 Nelson battleship heading NE towards the Bismark and 3 cruisers heading south.

They take about 10 minutes to destroy the Bismark, but the Bismark (in the game) usually ends up damaging one of the battleship and sinks/severly damages one of the cruisers.

I was putting torpedo into the Nelson when I watched them cross the "T" on the Bismark and that was all she wrote.

I took out two of the Nelson battleships but it was too late for the Bismark. I drove my sub the Bismark before she completely sank to pick up survivors.. They came with me down to Caribbean to finish my cruise (and to drink some rum and enjoy the sun).

Don't tell the BDU, but sometimes I park my sub in shallow waters next to a tropical island when I am on Caribbean patrols for 24 hours to allow my crew some fun in the sun after a successful cruise with lots of tonnage sunk to report.
:sunny:

In actuality I am away from my desk to to refresh my beverage or use the loo in the real world. But hey! - I let them enjoy some hard earned R&R next to an island to swim, fish, break out the stowed away booze while I am away in the "real world"..

:)

Anyone know in which sector the battle takes place? I know it's in BE somewhere.

Around BE37 I think.

BE58 I think, NE corner... it's in one of the radio messages. I think I'm going to start the patrol over just so I can be there when it happens. I think the Bismarck was still there when I was there on the 29th, because the British capitals probably sailed straight past the Bismarck without spotting her. The battle never took place, there was about 300m visibility at the time.

Thanks. I'm around March 1941 so i will start planning to be in the area.

Boris 01-11-07 01:24 AM

Remember, it happens early on 27 May, like the early hours of the morning. Try to be in the area before that.

Aim eels for her rudders and blow the jammed one off. Or blow both of them off, just dont get the screws as well or youll have to push her home.:know:
