Radio messages in GWX?
Hi, I guess this has been asked before but I couldn´t find a proper thread to my question, so here goes:
In GW1.1 I got many, well, way too many radio reports (don´t get me wrong, I appreciate all the effort put in this feature and I like the immersion, but it slowed down travelling and sometimes I was just hitting "M" and "+Time Compression" every couple of seconds.:o Now, GWX seems to use no additional (or only very very few) radio messages... I got a nice "Happ New Year" greeting from the boss (Dönitz), but I´m not even sure if that has already been in stock SH3. What I really miss are new orders like in GW1.1. I´d also like to know whether I´ll ever receive any "special mission"-orders (like going through Gibraltar or participating in some big action). I know I was onvolved in the Norway "Weserübung" battle in GW1.1, but I´m not sure about how GWX handles this, because I´m only in early 1941 (started in 1940), so I don´t know what´s to come... Cheers, AS |
Not really an answer to you question, but something you may find useful:
I was having the same problem, getting annoyed when the TC slowed down when I got a radio message. I used SH3 commander to change the TC setting on "When Radio Message Rec'd". It has helped tremendously. |
Yes I know, but even if your time acceleration is not interrupted, you´ll want to find out what the message is about (at least I was always afraid to miss omething important), so...
Thanks anyway. |

GW 1.1a used a different and much larger German messages file, but due to crediting complications with it's creator it had to be removed.
There are a few new situation specific messages in GWX (I translated them myself), but I do agree there need to be more. The more messages that pertain to what's happening in the actual game-world, the better. |
