Automatic time compression???

Hi,

I´m completely new to this game. Everytime I go to sonar, radio,..., station, time compression speeds up "automaticaly" while it should be a 1x (as there is just a green dot in the time comppresion indicator...) The only stations where this doesn´t happen are TMA and bridge (all where there is a 3D view of the ship)...

I can not change the time to x1 so it´s impossible to operate any station... I´ve looked all the options, manuals and forums but anything about this is mentioned... is this a bug? How can I change that (I´m playing v.1.03)

Thanks a lot!

Hi GuillermoZS, never heard of or experienced this problem. Time compression (TC) is manually operated in DW by clicking on the rectangle in the bottom right hand corner to increase TC in incremental stages. One green bar at the bottom represents normal passage of time whilst red at the top indicates maximum TC. Sorry that I can't help you with your problem but perhaps a reinstall would be the best way forward.

Yes, that´s what it´s supposed to be, but as I change to other station time is advancing really fast while there is only a green dot in the indicator (even faster than when I put it to maximum....)

Also, this happened to me in the demo, I supposed it was just a demo problem and whith the full game it happens again...

Thanks for the response :D

Seems to be some software conflict .. disable all background software, especially shortcut manager, if you use any.

Are you clicking the buttons to go to the stations or are you using your keyboard?

You may be pressing a time control button that you may not have known you set....(just a guess)

Do you have a dual core processor?

Hi,

Thanks for all responses. Finally I found the solution: I´m using an AMD dual core so I followed this:

and everything works great now... Just in case someone has the same problem.

Thanks a lot!

It's a problem that appears in some games, but DW is not one of them - for me.

This usually looks like a classic case of "programming by coincidence" in action. And the way it works similarly in so many games, I can't help but wonder if there is some cut&paste in it.
