Calling for HELP in GWX
I thought I read somewhere that there are other Subs that can come to your aid but how do you call them?:hmm:

When you spot a ship you can send a contact report. It works much better if you have spotted a Convoy or a Task Force. If there are AI subs in your vicinity they MIGHT come and help out.
They are only surface craft really and can't submerge and can only attack with their deck guns. More likely if you are in range of one of your Luftwaffe bases you will get help from them. This was a stock feature in vanilla SHIII. |
Thanks and personally, I'd rather prefer the DD's to be shooting at AI Subs then me http://www.bombs-away.net/forums/ima...es/biggrin.gif

Good luck. I ran into a wolfpack northwest or Rockall Bank Jan 1941 on one patrol. Glad they got miced rather than me. They did take out a couple of the escorts and so got a good run at the convoy we were attacking.:arrgh!: |
When I have spotted a ship I have tried to send a contact report but the majority of the time it doesn't work, any suggestions? I usually do this if I am out of torps, or if I spot a convoy.

I don't think it works for single ship contacts. I've hit the corresponding button numerous times for those. The status window says "Message Sent" or something like that.
Go to the radio room, and no message was sent. Do the same for a convoy that hasn't already been reported (showed up as a contact on the map screen), and the message successfully shows up on the list. |
I have sent reports on singletons and the Luftwaffen showed up. This was in the channel. I have not been able to get other subs to show but I have heard their electric motors on the hydrophone. I know there out there!!!
