Sonar Frequencies in Narrowband

In Dangerous Waters as in Sub Command the Spherical (Cylindrical) array picks up narrowband sonar frequencies in the high and very high ranges, the Hull (Conformal) array picks up narrowband sonar frequencies in the low and medium ranges, and the Towed Arrays pick up narrowband sonar frequencies in the very low, low, medium, and high ranges. This can be verified by checking the database in Ludger's Database Editor.

I was wondering if this might not be accurate in real life (although I've heard that narrowband sonar is classified in real life and naval personnel might not be at liberty to comment). I've heard that the Towed Arrays are optimized to pick up low or very low frequency sounds and that the Hull (Conformal) arrays are optimized to pick up low frequency sounds.

Would the game be more realistic if the Towed Arrays were adjusted to only pick up very low and low frequencies, the Hull (Conformal) arrays adjusted to only pick up low frequencies, and the Spherical (Cylindrical) arrays adjusted to pick up medium, high, and very high frequencies? After making these adjustments the sensitivity settings of the sonars may need to be changed for the sonars to retain their previous levels of sensitivity.

The FRAZ display is one of those "don't tread" areas you are correct sir.
