NEW SUB SKIN: Weathered VIIC
Here is my newest production; a weathered type VIIC. This skin uses Fubars excellent VIIC DARK skin as base (Kudos to you, Fubar!!). I have just added a lighter color of grey, and some rust & seaweed in the small "holes" at the side (sorry, dont know what their names are in english...)
The rust & seaweed are all hand-painted (took me 4 bloody hours to get them all done & good lookin'...:nope:) I have also given the wood-work a little more "tired" look.. For pictures, look further down! I hope you enjoy this skin, mateys! And again: Thanx to Fubar for his base skin, without it i could have done nothing!! GET IT HERE (readme included)!! EDIT: Updatet link, with modified textures (Not so "bloody") GWX Compatible! http://files.filefront.com/Weathered.../fileinfo.html Kind regards Dan AKA _Seth_ |
Nice work Mate:up:

for any ocassion.:D I'm in 39" out of Wilm in a new VIIb and as i build up patrols I want to age it as well as future boats. I'm savoring GWX like a fine wine and playing it slow so as to wring every drop of goodness out of it. And you, danlisa, fubar and all the rest give me a great closet full of skins to do it with. Thx to all of you. |
Your best yet, Seth!
|
Great skin, Seth!
Just a little thing that hits my eye, the rust is too red & sharp for my taste. But still, a very good skin! |
Great Skin Seth:up:
I take it this is compatible with GWX ie it wont brake any of the fixes. |

She's beautiful Seth...thanks

:o Is that blood coming out of the boat? ;)
I agree with Dowly for a change, the red looks too sharp for me as well, maybe it should be reduced a little incl the amount of rust. Just my honest opinion. |
I like the redish looking rust(blood) it will warn the merchantmen from clinging on to my boat:nope:. See the blood and little fingers of the others that were hanging on my boat???? Begone!!!
|
Yeah, its maybe a little too red!I like it when you are honest, mates!:yep:
I'll fix that on my next repaint. Maybe i'll just update this, since i have the photoshop files intact. Thanx for feedback, folks! I appreciate that!:up::up: |
@ Seth
Did you put the rust on a separate layer? If so reduce the opacity or fill. Top right cnr of the layers box. |

Yepp, i did. I had opacity at 100%, and fill opacity at 90%. I also had "Blend if grey/ underlying layer at 52 (looked best that way.) I'll look into it right away, mate! Thanx!!! |
Ok, i looked into this, and i changed the color textures (using a bit of dark brown and some hue....:smug:).
Here is a pic with the old "bloody" textures, compared to the new, more brownish like. http://img238.imageshack.us/img238/2...examplegv6.jpg Here is how it looks on the sub: http://img308.imageshack.us/img308/1...newrustiq3.jpg I'll update the links, so you get the new texture! Sorry for this guys, hope you like this better. And i appreciate you telling me if there is something not right, or anything else! Thats how we learn, isnt it..;) |
