Errors when installing Patch 1.4
http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/1623/feilhx0.jpg
Silent Hunter III DVD v1.0 to v1.3 Update Program This program cannot update the installed version of Silent Hunter III EMEA DVD v1.0 to v1.3 because of the following reason: E:\Programfiler\Ubisoft\silenthunteriii\menu\en_he lp.txt: unknown version I do see it only mention 1.3 but I downloaded the 1.4 patch... I swear (I think) I just uninstalled SH3 and reinstalled it (even checked the registry), everything is fine. But when I installed the patch from ubisoft's homepage and installed it the error message above appears. I have tried several times to uninstall and reinstall. Does anyone have any good advice what to do about this one? I have checked the file and it doesn't contain anything else but txt. I chose english as the language in the game, and the file seems fine. Could anyone send me the file on mail so I can see if it helps to just switch the files (hope and pray the rest of the files are ok). If anyone has the giving-spirit during x-mas send the en_help.txt file to kanolsen at fastmail. fm Kanolsen I have read the manual twice already and I am desperate to try GWX now! :arrgh!: |
Delete the help.txt files that the patcher is complaining about.
And all will be well. Edit - 1.4b patch is labelled as 1.3, aren't Ubi good at what they do? |
install
Try this: go to the ubisoft/SilentHunterIII directory and delete the file.
The patch is mislabled; it says it is 1.03 but it is really 1.04. Make sure you have the fight patch; there are four of them and you need to use the right one. |
