Nice pics there:up:
My boat is still in the construction phase, although it's nearly finished I have some final jobs to do. Unfortunately I have been very busy at work and my time has become limited - I even have very little time for SH3:cry: |
Where can you get these kits? A beautiful model that is..
Goose_green...build one of those for me and I'll pay you $200 ;) |
Nice piccies, I have the revel's 1.72nd scale Type VIIC/41 atlantic version i'm so looking forward to making a start on that beautiful looking sub...IHO the VII's are the best looking subs in WWII

Nice pics silverGhost:cool: ,
@subwolf, you can get the kits at most online hobby stores--I ordered theVIIC "wolpack" through squadron.com for $72.usd--then actually found it in a local hobby store for $55.usd:damn: --also, some cool scale bridge and deck gun crew figures to add to the package and PE sets for more detail---scroll through the model & book forum here and there are some more pics w/different paint schemes shown. @Goose_green, I looked through your thread at ubi---great job-especially giving progress updates---helps us new builders better than instuction pages:up: |
Thanks for that link U-snafu! Excellent site
There is even a $2,500 type VII kit :o a huge model with brass decks! I want that one :yep: |
The picture shows the REVELL model kit. Check their website. A 1/72 scale Gato has just been released, too. It´s 1,30m long!
I´m looking forward to building it in my Christmas holidays! Cheers, AS |
Needs some rust wash streaks

You have to remember the scale of the model is 1/72...meaning, 1" on the model is 6' on the real deal.
For you modellers out there...weathering is a very subtle thing on a model. Get too heavy-handed with it and you've blown the scale effect. You can't see a paint chip in 1/72nd scale...and rust and fading paint has to be kept in context with what your eye "sees". The pics really don't do it justice...it turned out very well. |
Good work SG, I'm impressed, you did a fine job.
Regards, Grell |
