question concerning deck gun in GW mod

Quick question here. I actually wanted to ask about this a long time ago but forgot.

Why are there no AP shells for the deck gun in grey wolves? Is this a historical accuracy thing? Did they really not have ap shells? Were they considered useless or something?

Somebody must have asked this before, but I really couldn't find anything. Thanks for anybody's time.

Historically speaking Uboats only carried HE shells
No AP or Starshells

Wow thanks didn't know that. Not even the star shells. Now I can't help but wonder why they were in sh3 to begin with. eh w/e thanks man.

Notice that the flak guns also show SS shell although you cant choose them
