Air attack
When a plane is in fire after an attack on a uboot, it dont return to the airbase, but return for another attack, and again and again until it goes down ! Its absolutly ridilulous and modders should change that ....

Actually, while it is impossible in terms of changing AI routines, one can probably improve the situation in terms of visual effects by removing a smoke damage zone from the damage model of planes. In such a case, the smoke and fire are likely to appear only when f.e. the engine is destroyed and then the plane will not be able to survive much longer without the engine.

New planes need to be included in CFG files of Airbases/carriers. The Airpower mod does not have them scripted in those files so you will never see the new planes in the game.
Do you use the air-attacks mod with proper Roster files (the very first download was without them)? If you do not use GW and do not have Essex installed, you may want to delete the Essex folder from the data\Sea directory. I do not think that it causes the problem with the crash but just in case. If you have a crash upon SH3 loading and roughly at the half-way filled loading-bar, the problem is likely with some CFG files. |
