Air attack
 
When a plane is in fire after an attack on a uboot, it dont return to the airbase, but return for another attack, and again and again until it goes down ! Its absolutly ridilulous and modders should change that ....

I am afraid you have to live with that. AI routines are largely hardcoded.

Hardcoded !? The first talent in sh3 team.
And about the bullet sound fire by boats that we can hear when we look at through the periscope !! Is it also harcoded ? Smile

Actually, while it is impossible in terms of changing AI routines, one can probably improve the situation in terms of visual effects by removing a smoke damage zone from the damage model of planes. In such a case, the smoke and fire are likely to appear only when f.e. the engine is destroyed and then the plane will not be able to survive much longer without the engine.

Not sure about that, but my guess it might be possible to mod it off/out/away.

You certainly right and it's a pity. One thing about your air attack mod: if i use it with the Rubini files, its direct crash desk (simdata incident). Strange. So, i use your mod mix with the Airpower 1.4c .... I have never seen your beautiful planes, but no crash desk ...Smile !!

New planes need to be included in CFG files of Airbases/carriers. The Airpower mod does not have them scripted in those files so you will never see the new planes in the game.

Do you use the air-attacks mod with proper Roster files (the very first download was without them)? If you do not use GW and do not have Essex installed, you may want to delete the Essex folder from the data\Sea directory. I do not think that it causes the problem with the crash but just in case.

If you have a crash upon SH3 loading and roughly at the half-way filled loading-bar, the problem is likely with some CFG files.

This can be done by editing respective .ZON files of aircrafts which is by far not an easy task at present, without dedicated software. You need to be comfortable with hex-editing and know the format of the ZON files.

By the time it returns for a second attack, you should be deep enough so you don't see it anymore...;)

Thank you for your reply. In loading the sea folder rubini files, its ok the game accept to be loading; but if i add the land folder of ubini or even his optional air folder, its crash again.

It is very strange that the replacement of original Air-attacks mod's CFG files in the Air folder with those modified by Rubini leads to the crash. He has only changed MaxRadius values and the files looked okay to me at first glance. Maybe, corrupt download?
