lights on subs
 

There apparently are lights on sub's conning towers. I assume they were used in friendly harbors / waters? It would be cool if there was a way to turn them on. :yep:

If you mean like the 'lighted' merchants...I don't think that's possible because you'd robably need two different files for your one boat...I may be wrong but I'm sure someone will be along presently to pour more 'light' on the matter!! :D

There is a lighted merchant mod out there. I think it is going into GWX. Correct me is I'm wrong.

could be cool but only in the first years and in frienly ports. but only if it can be switched off.

Later in the war with the danger of night and day air attacks makes this unrealistic and not very cool in night convoy attacks... :dead:

Yes I hope the merchant ships are not always 'lit up like x-mas trees', that would be rather unrealistic.

I have seen screenshots and it basically is just the windows that have some light. It is not like a football stadium light show!

I remember reading about a sailor on a merchant that turned on a light in his bunk, but he forgot to close the shades over the porthole.
The corvette captain saw this and was furious.
So this gives me an idea about how there were ZERO lights in a convoy.
Then again, maybe it depends on the year, and type of convoy etc...

There was also a story of a nuetral sailing in a convoy with all lights on
You can guess how the escorts felt about that
