VIIC Skin: "Das Animal" + (WIP)Norwgian fishing cutter (Dial-up warning! Pic heavy!)
I've just finished "Das Animal". I think those brits and yankees would be scared to death if they encountered this beast in the open seas...
I've also included pics of my ongoing work on divinducks "cutter", trying to make it more Norwegian... Well, here it is: http://img471.imageshack.us/img471/6...sanimalvk8.jpg http://img472.imageshack.us/img472/8...animal2vh6.jpg http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/1...animal3ti7.jpg http://img329.imageshack.us/img329/7...conninghn3.jpg And some more seaweed: http://img329.imageshack.us/img329/4...seaweedkp3.jpg The fishing cutter skin: http://img297.imageshack.us/img297/6...ngboat2rh8.jpg The cutter skin is Work In Progress. I posted this over at Dowlys, because the Registration number appears on both sides on the hull (inside and outside, mirrored inside), and also mirrored on the opposite side. My mate Dowly told me that since there were ony one side of the hull in the texture folder, i had to investegate the .dat file connected to this. Is sounds like a good advice, but where can i find this .dat, and do i have to create a new "hull" to go with the opposite site? |
Not sure about the blue section on the U-Boat but it is nice in a strange way.

Nice work there Seth, the cutter looks real good. Maybe you should let safe-keeper know about it as it would be good for his Norway Ops mod he's working on. It could become part of the Shetland express (the fleet of trawlers who supplied the resistance in Norway).
"Das Animal" is a laugh:rotfl:Just missing the leapod skin uniform for the crew!:hmm: Nice to have you back! |
Yeah, its not my best skin, i know.. :rotfl:But its surreal in some way, yeah... Im thinking of just using the green seaweed thing on future repaints, and i'll think i skip the zebra/camo-stuff. Thanx steed and bookworm, i'll pm safe-keeper, to see if he could be interested.

I like the camo scheme on the conning tower

As for the sea-weed, that's a very good touch, actually. It always astounded me how every single ship and sub in every game is somehow 100% free of algae and other growth below the water-line. Fair enough for a few ships that could technically be right out of shipyard or dry-dock, but not every single one. They should be green on the underside, not red or grey. |

Remember: The model of this cutter is made by divindduck; all im doing is repainting it. @ divin: Excellent model, mate! |
Seth: :rotfl:What the **** have you been doing to yourself in the brig?
I love the fishing boat, but the VII .......... *Stabiz calls his nearest drug store* |

But seriously, I see Danlisa is teaching you well. I have absolutely no clue how you do that.

Oooooohhh! that's hard on the eyes!:dead:
Not a bad skin job. I like the green slime on the decking. Not sure how much would grow on a real submarine moving at a rate of knots though. |
Moin,
@_Seth_ nice skin for the hull. But you will not succeed without changing the UVW Map Settings. Since I´m planning to rework the cutter, after I´ve finished my actual project, I could include separate UVW texture cooardinates and textures for the left/right/inner side of the hull. That would allow you to attach a registration easily. Regards, DD |
Seth, you can keep the VII skin, but when can we download the fishing boat? Looks great
