Problems with OpenGL

So, I have serious problems with my graphic card´s OpenGL mode. The card is GF 7800GTX. Whenever I switch to OpenGL in a game, the game slows down to 0.5 fps.

I´ve heard that the Windows XP does install OpenGL drivers, BUT they are performing very poorly in games.

Is there invidual openGL drivers or are they included in package when you download new drivers??

Also, my PC is powerfull enough to run th games, it´s just the OpenGL mode that slows the games down.

Could anyone with knowledge on this subject help me?

The Nvidia driver handles OpenGL. Maybe it´s broken, try and reinstall the same driver or use an older/newer one.

Thanks. Will try.

It seemed to work. Funny, as I have installed lots of drivers to my card over the time I´ve had it, but I have always had issues with low FPS in OpenGL games.

That's strange, because Nvidia's OpenGL has always had rather good performance, about equal to (and sometimes better than) Direct3D.

I´ve installed new drivers maybe 5 or 6 times and it seems that the installer has failed everytime to install the OpenGL drivers. So I´ve been stuck with the WinXP OpenGL drivers wich suck.

But it works now and yes the performance is great. Like in Pacific Fighters, runs better in OpenGL and looks ALOT better.
