ja wohl herr Kaleunt

Hi There. Is there any way to eliminate the "Ja wohl herr kaleunt" reply to every single command you give the crew?. It starts to be rather anoying after a while specially when you are under intensive action . Is it possible for them just to answer the command given?

Thanks a lot

Not that I'm aware of...but someone should come along with an alternative if there is one soon. Personally speaking I like the speech in my gameplay. :yep:

And welcome aboard matey :arrgh!:

I already did that. If you use my sound files you'll find it gone. Of course you still wait while their mouths move, but that can't be helped.

Great, like running a u-boat completely deaf:shifty:. Soon you will be saying "What?". That will get annoying also....oh well...what are you going to do........

Thanks. Actually I do like it my self but on those rainy days playing by the fireplace on my laptop, people around start to complain about the constant repetition of " Ja wohl herr kaleunt". ( And no I donīt like headphones) So sometimes .....only sometimes you need to make certain concesions to preserve the peace .

ŋHow do I get the fix?

You could try english speech. I mean it isn't as genuine as german but the simple "yes sir" is alot easier to hear a billion times than that mouthful of german navy formality.

It's easy to fix. Use your Windows Sound Recordr (found under Accessories) and record a second of Silence. Save and name the file like it's in SH3 speech (make sure you replace it in all 9 speech files! Then you can play with German Speech and be rid of Jawohl Herr Kaleun without any compatibility trouble. :p

man if it is that easy...you could make something that will not annoy the people around you when you play...like "there I changed it!":yep:

That sounds easy.......Iīll give it a try.

I originally had no objection to it. In fact, usually a crewman repeats back an order starting (or ending) with "Aye aye, sir"! My problem was when I ordered a crash dive. I don't think anyone is going to say "Jawhol, herr kaleun" before he screams "ALAAAARRRMMM!!!"

Also, I use mostly Das Boot sound files, and orders and repeated orders are all included, so again the "Jawhol" sounds odd.

:-? ur confusing me here.

you like the sound urself, but the people around u complain about it.
so you are going to replace the sound files. all the 9 folders...now..I hope you created a back-up all of them.

I say get headphones. I didnt like the idea at the begin but now I cant play without them.

get small discman headphones if you dont like the oversized thing over ur head.
if you find those small ones annoying in ur hear...get some stylish big ones. that are comfy enough

Nothing like good headphones to find this distant prop sounds on the hydrophone...;)

What I generally donīt like about ALL subsims Iīve played so far is that the speech-files always sound sterile and not at all enthusiastic, emotional or tense or immersive. Just compare the way orders are spoken in "Das Boot" to that strange, clean style of SH3. Besides, most orders are historically and/or technically wrong, at least in the German version, my favorite "anti-speech-file" is this ridiculous "Derzeitige Tiefe x metres" ("current depth x metres") or "Normal Tauchen" (which literally translates "ordinary diving" - thatīs a bad joke, really!

I replaced most of my files with "Das Boot" ones.

My two cents,

AS
