007 Returns

And the critics are running at 95% thumbs up. As one who read all the books and has seen all the films, I am glad they are getting away from the space lasers, gadget buffet, and predictible one-liners and stripping down to a lethal, no-frills Bond.

The new bond is a coward.........he's afraid of guns!

What? No Walther PPK?

Connery is the Bond gold standard, all the others pale in comparison (although they do have their individual merits). I'm looking forward to seeing what Craig can do, he was great in Munich, and I hope he will bring a hard edge back to the series!

Hey I'd rather watch Bond beat the crud out of another guy than just shoot him. There is a time and a place for guns but I think that Bond films of late have become a little to reliant on gunfights. I'm not really sure how using firearms more reluctantly makes him a coward.:hmm:

Yahoshua 11-16-06 11:32 PM

Being afraid of an inanimate object tells me that he's a coward.

And bond doesn't HAVE to use guns, god no. In real life your sidearm was your last resort, not the first. I don't mind some good boxing once in awhile.

Tch tch tch.....Neal, Neal, Neal.

You disappoint me....did you forget George Lazenby on purpose...or was it because he got Dianna Rigg before we could?

David Niven in the original poses no threat, but if Sean is the best 007 in From Russia With Love, surely he must also be the worst in Never Say Never Again.

Only if you ignore Roger Moore in Octopussy.

Sean Connery, great actor.

TarJak 11-17-06 01:45 AM

Can't go past Sean Connery for Bond. Got to admit though never say never again was pretty awful. Not that any of the movies ever had much to do with the books.

mog 11-17-06 01:59 AM

I look forward to seeing Craig in action. It's about time Bond became less poncy and more mean.

Polak 11-17-06 03:38 AM

Where is the George Lazenby option? :D
Anyways, I will have to go with the Skybird option because
I can not decided on who is my favorite James Bond(over
all these years:smug:) and I guess that the Skybird option is a
"I dont know" option. But the choice clearly stands
between Sean Connery and Roger Moore.

Konovalov 11-17-06 04:47 AM

Connery all the way but I hope that this Craig guy can give the best 007 a run for his money. :yep:

I'm still trying to convince my wife to come and see it with me. After all, she puts me through going to watch Bollywood movies which believe it or not last from a minimum 3 hours up to a ridiculous 4.5-5 hours long, including intermission! :o

So yes, I would love to see this Bond film on the big screen for a change with a guy that apparently can act and that hasn't happened since that Scotsman Marco Ramius.

STEED 11-17-06 05:17 AM

Bond is back, has he ever gone away? No. http://www.freesmileys.org/emo/rolleyes008.gif http://www.freesmileys.org/emo/confused009.gif

Bartolomeus 11-17-06 06:36 AM

Yeah Sean Connery is the best Bond!

goldorak 11-17-06 06:46 AM

The best James Bond ? Roger Moore :yep: followed closely behind by Sean Connery.
