Paused Game and TDC
Even though I am attempting to play on 100% realism, I am glad that the game lets you plot on the chart while it's paused. This is perhaps not strictly 'real' but it helps when you're under time pressure from a closing escort.
For the same reasoning, I would like to be able to input torp settings to the TDC while paused but the game doesn't allow that. Does anyone know if the game settings can be tweaked to allow this? |
I don't think it's possible. That said, it seems kind of odd to me to play at 100% and then want to cheat. I just use the Weapons Officer Help and play at 97%.

It's not really "cheating". A real sub captain had years of training in order to do his job properly. He also had a crew working with him that did all of that for him on his command. We're playing a game. :) Pausing to adjust those things just simulates the crew doing their thing. heh

Thanks Kylania - but can it be set up?

Don't believe so, I just tried myself and wasn't able to see any way of doing it. Not even all the UZO features work paused either.
It did prove one thing though, I really really suck at manually targeting. :( |
I've not tried the TDC whilst the game is paused, but I did find much to my surprise that you can still use the 'free view'. Certainly an interesting feature in active situations, also you can pop up and look at the fighters and seaguls when leaving port. :D

Look at it this way, how many U-Boat captains start a new career after being killed. The whole idea of cheating in a computer game is very much a moot concept anyway. With all the lovely visual mods why bother with no external views. 100% realism, live in semi darkness for a month without bathing or shaving (for men), eat only the food you have in for that period regardless of condition, only see the outside world from either you front or back doorstep through binoculars and if your neighbours spot you they can throw rotten fruit, turn the humidity and heating up high, periodicaly soak your clothing and bedding with a watering can of iced salted water. Or am I the only one who does this, too much realism?
