Has anyone actually used manual radar?
I like using Sonar, and playing with the hydrophone.
Radar is another matter- I'm looking at an oscilliscope with a bunch of squiggles. I have no freaking idea what I'm looking at in game terms. I'd like to think there is some advantage to using the radar manually. |
I have but its very finicky when rotating the radar beams direction.
In short it rotates a beam. The beam is only pointed in one direction at a time. Th oscilascope indicates range. If you see a bump/squiggle, it means the radar beam is bouncing off an object. The scale next to the vertilce line indicates range. The range has two scale settings. long and short. The lower the squiggle is on the line/scope, the closer the contact is. So if you set the radar to long range, a contact near the bottom of the verticle line could be say 1000 meters. If you shift to short range, now you can get more accurate readings, middle of the line being say, 500 meters? Just guestimate numbers. |
Sorry mate no idea. I leave the radar to my crew
I tried once but I couldn't figure out what is going on.:x |
