RuB v1.45
OK I got my multiple installations up and running, one default, one TGW and now I want to make one for "The Avon Lady's" setup. The first thing on the list is RuB1.45. I really really like this mod however I cannot stand the map! I want the mod with the default map. Someone mentioned looking through the readme and I could only install what I wanted to install however I have done that and am lost!
Basically I want to install this mod but keep the default map. I still have the default installation as well so after installing the mod could I not then go back and overwrite the modified map back with the original one? If this is the case where is it located in the file structure? Thanks a ton in advance, you guys have been great this evening with the help to this newbie! Chuck Gehman |
OK installed RuB 1.45 then went into the data\menu\gui\units folder and overwrote those with the default ones.
Now the contacts on the map do appear in their correct colors however they still show as "boxes" instead of contacts with "tails". I am getting there, now if I can figure out where the tga's are to turn them back into the tails contacts! Chuck |
Hmm, the tails are a graphics file if I remember correctly.
|
They are not a .tga that is for sure, still searching.

Any idea on what the "tails" name could be? I have searched the data folder using every term I could think of, contact(s), map, tail(s), ship(s), direction.
Have not a clue here. Chuck |
Someone built a set of mods called Unreal boat that lets you roll back some of the changes the RUB makes. You should be able to find it here: http://ubrsdlc.realsimulation.com/

Thanks found it and am looking it over now!

Worked perfectly now I have RuB 1.45 but with the default map! Exactly the way I wanted it.
Thanks again, Chuck |
'S funny. I pick and choose my mods piece by piece. I first started with different pieces from RUB. One I liked the most was, yep, the altered maps. Now I use the map that shows nothing at all, until you lock onto a ship, at which time it shows "unknown" in a circle. Afte getting all the info it puts it on the map.
