By far superior

The USN has always had the upper hand in technology when it came to most things, the russian navy today is a mess only recently has the russian navy began building itself back to some sort of form and order.

The class system of the USN is by far the best way to keep an order in a navy one class designation ie DDG only the arliegh burke's are the current DDG's, where as the Russian navy have Udaloy sovremenny kashin kara class DDG's which makes it confusing for everyone including themselves.

Russia is to scrap its single role submarines for the multi role kind and bring in a more easier class system ie the borey will be the only SSBN class eventualy or the lada amurs will be the only SSK's.

Also russia plans to introduce progressive retirement and scrapping a system that japan has masterd the whole idea will take around 30 years to become fully operational but once its masterd it could mean that the russian navy will have alot more cash as well as better maintained units and better paid crews (current enlisted sailor is earning around $150 a month a captain can earn up to $400 per month)

This is an idea i would liked to have seen introduced 10 years ago but its advantages are enormus especialy for the cash strapped russian navy of today.

So what are your views on this system do you think it will work?

Russian sailor rich, Polish sailor poor.
Do they really earn that mutch?
Sorry for going a bit off topic, but I am really curious.

My thoughts too - that is all? I guess the average monthly wage in Russia was equivelent to $35 a month not too long ago, so maybe that isn't so bad?

Consider i can buy a flat in the best street in St petes for a little under $200,000 that wage is an awful lot of money it goes a very long way.
