No engine sound
Last night i attacked a convoy in the atlantic and sunk 3 merchants but after a long dreadfull Depthcharge attack i suffered some serieus damage. They destroyed some not so important stuff in the conning tower and more annoying, my starboard diesel engine (or the other one, can't remember) Anyways, i had to go on with my patrol with one diesel engine. Now the weird thing was that at the surface i didn't hear any engine sounds, but i was still moving @ 8 knts. Is this a known bug??
Btw: i run Sh3 with GW1.1A and SH3 commander. Grtz Tijn |
:hmm: It might be a bug, but cant be sure of that.
Also I have to add that TC sometimes screws up the ''Play sound script'' for example I travel on a high TC and move myself to the conning tower and back to the comand center, then I keep hearing that Bow splash sound even when i,m submerged. and sometimes I keep hearing the heavy diesels engines that you hear inside the submarine when I,m submerged. and sometimes I dont hear the diesels when nothing happend. but after a time I hear them again. |
Well it isn't a very big issue, but it was a bit stange. I was glad though at least one of my diesel engines was still working.

When the port engine is damaged, the sound no longer works. The sound is tied to the port engine since the sbd engine is shut off occasionally to charge the batteries.
Its a "feature" |
Ok that's clear then ( It must have been my port engine then, wich was destroyed). Weird though. I will ask the destroyers to destroy my other engine next time, so that i can still listen to sound of my other diesel engine.

Now that is some fine 'silent running.'

Then it's time to open a bottle of beer...and get your crew on deck and start rowing...and set Bernard to pull the plug in case of an air attack..
