i have 2 questions
i had installed the game without 1.4b patch-grey wolves mod and for a c3
i needed 20 shots from deck gun or 1-2 torpedoes. Also in the middle of the mission if i wanted to return to harbor easily pressed esq -return to base.
Now i installed the 1.4b patch-grey wolves-and sh3 commander but i cant return to harbor only following the way back-into sub pens. And for a c3 i need 2 torpedoes and about 100-130 shots.
can i fix that issues;

first of all you should have installed GW on a 1.4 patched version of SH3. If the game isn't patched I don't know what will happen.

Now on the subject of the C2 Cargo. GW is using a different damage system than the original game. Ships can be sunk by flooding or by explosions. Try to hit them in different compartments. See this thread it might be of use to you http://www.communitymanuals.com/shii...hip_Weak_Spots

When you're using the deck gun try to aim below the waterline. That way water will enter the boat and lead to eventual sinking of it. In GW you will need significantly more rounds to sink a ship than in the original game, so don't worry about it. It's something normal.

First, backup your career which is found in "My Documents" in the SH3 folder. Then uninstall the Grey Wolves and and other mods you might have installed. Start with a fresh install of SH3. by fresh install, I mean remove the Ubisoft folder from the Program Files\, Once you have your fresh install, upgrade to 1.4b. then install JSGME which is a Generic Mod Enabler. Install your TGW1.1a (Grey Wolves). Now I don't know whether you can pick up your old career after you've placed it back into the SH3 Folder in "My Documents" then try loading your career. If it doesn't load, then you'll have to start a new career. Oh. Install SH3 Commander 2.6.1 first after you get SH3 ready to run. You might also want to install SH3Gen which is an intelligence report generator and SH3 Weather.

The "extra" gun shots needed and "extra" torpedos needed is a function of GW. Things will be more difficult to sink, but the whole game is and feels much better I think. :) So that part seems normal.

As for the 'no return to base option' problem, that might be caused by having missed the 1.4b install maybe? I'm not quite sure. Only time I've seen that before was with NYGM, where if you were at 100% realism it didn't appear. You actually had to get within about 20km of your home base in order to exit the mission, so that fuel was a concern for you.

I'd definately do a full reinstall as rob said, and to be honest I'd just start fresh with a new career as well unless you're really attached to your captain. heh
