DW patch or mod?

Has someone bothered to look at the subs not holding a correct depth bug in DW? Is there a mod available for it yet? Or is a new patch (That I keep on hearing is in the works) just about ouyt yet that addresses it? I'd like to get back into this game, but that one thing really bugged me - fine overshoot by a bit, and yes, I have been at the helm on Bangor WA's simulator and I understand it is hard to keep perfect depth for a newbie, but even I didn't overshoot even partly this bad with a toltal knob controlling the other dive plane!

And a fine simulator it was...granted, I remember old school of going thru sub school training on the 637 drive and dive trainer.

You got to shake up the passengers a bit since it's on stilts and moves! :)

Gotta love the "manual rudder" for emergency situation of loosing hydrolic pressure.:rotfl::rotfl:

Is there such a bug ? I only know about subs making strange pitch changes. I heard it is fixed, but not released yet. It is not fixed in 1.03 and it is last released patch.

There is one feature I can think of that matches his description - noticable when you are at PD or shallower, and come to all stop. Your (realistic) slight positive buoyancy has you breaching the surface after... a good bit of time.

Subs were having severe problems with manuevering and losing depth before 1.03. 1.03 fixed it, but apparently at the expense of the pitch and buoyancy problems.

I believe that a lot of the code for this game was written for the military. If I was a customer who had paid a lot of tax payers dollars I would be wanting my money back!

The two "versions" have only a tangental relationship.

The NSE sold to Sonalysts' contract buyers comes with a development toolkit that allows them to make substantial modifications.

Cheers,
David
