Why did my quads not fire?
I was just leaving my home port St Nazaire when 6 Mosquitos or such attacked the harbor. As it was too shallow to dive I manned my two quads and the twin 3.7 and gave the order 'fire at will'. But only the 3.7 complied, the quads remained silent although the planes passed right over me (thankfully bombing the hell out of my Flottenbegleiter and not me...)..
So is there any problem with the quads? The flak station was fully manned with 6 guys. |
hmm maybe a bug ,but why didnt u manned the gun to try to destroy the planes ?
|
I did eventually but then the planes were already by me and as I have 2 quads I can't operate them both so I had to rely on my men...:shifty:

Obviously makesure that the crewman have flak qualifications.
There is a annoying bug related to flak guns. The solution is to quickly cycle through each flak firing a couple of rounds each time, but return to the bridge view after each. Like this, Start on bridge, Press T - fire rounds, Press F4, Press F - fire rounds, Press F4, Press G - fire rounds, Press F4. (oh by the way T,F,G are shortcut keys for each flak) This will wake up your flak gunners. Also, are you using SH3 Commander, there are malfunction/sabotage effect applied to flak guns, buit this is usually related to re-loading times. |

I've replaced the quads with 3.7 twins, maybe that helps (also better for raking small vessels :arrgh!:), I usually don't fight it out with planes anyway. |
Um...2 quads plus the dual 37?
|
Yep, conning tower VIIC/4 gives you that in early '44.
I replaced the quads with 2 more 3.7 twins and on the next patrol start we got attacked again. This time all guns fired (to no avail of course) but I noticed that I seem to have unlimited ammo for the guns. How comes, another bug? :hmm: |
